Henderson, NV Air Conditioning Repair & Service
The area that would become Henderson was largely uninhabited until the early 20th century. During the run-up to World War II, the region was transformed from a thinly populated series of ranchlands into the country’s top place for magnesium production, a critical metal for the American war effort. After the war, Nevada’s state government purchased the area’s magnesium infrastructure in an effort to maintain employment and economic stability in town. During the subsequent decades, Henderson’s economy diversified away from industrial production. Today, Henderson is a popular residential community and business hub that serves the southern end of the Las Vegas Valley.
Henderson is located in southern Clark County, Nevada. It’s part of the larger Las Vegas metropolitan area and boasts easy access to McCarran International Airport, the region’s main air travel hub. Parts of Henderson are just a few miles from the shores of Lake Mead and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The city itself is defined by flat or gently rolling terrain that rises somewhat toward the south and southwest. Major thoroughfares include U.S. Highway 95 and Interstate 215. While the city’s developed areas are covered with a mix of low- and medium-density residential and commercial development, the undeveloped areas consist largely of scrubland.
Population and Demographics
With more than 270,000 inhabitants, Henderson is the second-largest municipality in the state of Nevada. It has experienced rapid growth during the past three decades: In 1990, the city’s population was well under 100,000. Henderson is characterized by a mix of incomes and housing types. Like many other communities in the Las Vegas Valley, the city has a relatively high concentration of retirees and second-homeowners. It’s also popular with younger families and budget-minded professionals.

Conventioneers can take advantage of the nearby Las Vegas Convention Center, one of the country’s largest and most popular settings for trade shows. Climate and Weather
Henderson has an arid climate that’s marked by hot, dry summers, relatively mild winters and distinct wet and dry seasons. During the spring and early summer months, the region is predictably hot and dry. High temperatures frequently exceed 100 degrees during this period and occasionally reach or exceed 110 degrees. During late summer and early fall, a monsoon pattern brings more moisture into the region and occasionally produces soaking rains. The winter months tend to be cool and somewhat moist. However, frozen precipitation is relatively rare.
