I feel as if the job was done right and professionally
Professional and great value; good communication; love that they text a pic of the serviceman in advance. He knew his stuff and worked clean and respectfully. Only prefer that they require their service people to be vaccinated before entering someone's home.
OUR SERVICE TECH GAVIN NEEL WAS VERY THOROUGH AND PROFESSIONAL. THE PRICE WAS FAIR AND REASONABLE.
Gavin has a wonderful work ethic. He was professional and hard working. I appreciated his kindness and politeness as well. I would absolutely recommend Gavin and Ambient Edge to anyone for their air conditioning needs.
VERY RESPONSIBLE AND THOROUGH
I am so happy with this service, not only did they call me to tell me Chris was going to be late, when he got there we discussed what my air conditioner needed and when it needed to be done... He was completely honest with me and got me a price right away.
Upon inspection, technician found condenser coil needing to be chemically cleaned so we can further diagnose system. We will power down the system and chemically clean coil. We then will confirm there are no bubbles being kicked out while condenser fan motors are running. We will re-check refrigerant levels on both compressors. Additional quotes may follow.
Found split system with fan running backwards and compressor not running at all. Found dual cap reading 0/0. Found disconnect burnt too badly to make work, bypassed for the time being. Contactor slightly burnt. Replaced cap and checked system operations, condensing unit is R22 and about 16 years old judging by name plate. System operating at this time but highly recommend replacement.
Fixed burnt wires on compressor contactor for RTU #9. System operating with 25 degree split Christian M
Arrived on site , upflow unit in garage, checked the furnace blower motor , wires for loose connections. Check outdoor condenser, check capacitor , compressor , pressures , contactor, everything’s running as designed. *when arrived customer stated a ticking noise by indoor furnace, noise disappears when covers are off, put covers back on ran unit, ticking noise appears, sounds like something is rattling vibrating, can’t find noise.
5/7/21 upon arrival found steam from dishwasher staying in area and not being ventilated outside. On the roof found correct voltage going to motor but still not operating. Found open winding m, also found wheel extremely greasy and full of trash which may have caused the motor to overheat and pull higher amperage. Quoting by to repair and also quoted to replace so customer may have options. Mark

5/7/21- turned unit off, removed old celdek pad from MUA unit, found heavily plugged with calcium. Installed new pad and turned unit back on and ensured water properly running down pad. New pad dated Repair complete. Mark
Upon arrival found RTU one had its disconnect powered down after inspection of all the electrical and testing to make sure that it was as good as possible electrically powered the unit back on and check all the motor amperage to ensure that the motors are running as best as possible. Motors are checking out right around full load amps or a little below which is good. Upon checking the refrigerant for compressor one found what looks to be a combination of a very dirty condenser coil and possibly low charge. On the Second compressor of RTU one found that it looks to be the same issue. RTU one and RTU two need very good coil cleanings in order to illuminate the condenser coil issue, we will need to chemically wash and rinse the coils very good and then re-test the systems for the complete diagnosis. Upon inspection of RTU two found that the disconnect was on but was not receiving any power. Upon observation of RT use disconnect found out the forks were not able to make complete contact Ev
Upon arrival found unit was off at the thermostat and that it was 82° in the second floor of the house. Upon taking the thermostat and turning the cooling on the blower motor started. I had it outside to check the condensing unit once outside I found that the compressor was humming as well as the condenser fan motor was not able to spin. Upon observing that I opened up the electrical compartment of the condenser and found that the capacitor is bulging and has only measurements in nano Nanofarads not microfarads, this is an indication that the capacitor has failed, this capacitor was a dual capacitor both the fan and the Home side of each were in nanofarads. I also found while inspecting the condensing section electrical that a jump hard start kit was attached to the compressor. Upon opening the lid of the condensing unit to check the compressor to ground I found that there was refrigerant oil on the coil of the condenser as well as the inside wall. I then hooked up gauges to see that
Came in to do pictures and do more research. Also reset the system to try to help prolong the water in the P-Trap until we return Auxiliary humidifier going off on supply water failure because of water filter. Once system locks itself out the P trap dries up and allows sewer smell into building. The current water filter is for chlorine reduction and we need one for mineral reduction. It also needs to be far larger so maintenance is required less often. Mod: George T Diane M
In most cases your existing unit can be fixed. Typically, one specific component has failed and our technical specialists can identify the issue and in many cases simply replace that part. Depending on the part or the age of the unit, a repair may not be the most cost effective or long-term option and so we always ask a very important question: what’s going to save you more money and make a lasting fix?
In some cases, the cost of replacing a part can approach the cost of replacing the AC system. And a new system may last much longer, with less costly repairs and a lower energy bill.
At Ambient, we’re always happy to repair an existing system. But we also run a cost-benefit assessment for you. If it’s going to save you more money over the long term to get a new system, we’ll tell you that—and let you make the final call. If your considering replacement, we will send a comfort specialist out to your home to measure and evaluate total cost of replacement. If you decide to go with a new system, we’ll provide installation and a service plan so you can get back to enjoying cool, crisp AC.
